Loading and Preperation for Travel
Even horses without competitive careers may need to travel, as a horse may need to be
taken to a vet for emergency treatment, or an owner’s circumstances may require a change
of home. Horse owners need to be fully prepared for any eventuality, ensuring that their horse
is happy to be loaded and to travel should the need arise.
Equally, for a horse expected to travel regularly, bad experiences when loading or on previous
journeys can leave a lasting impression. A horse being difficult to load is a frequent complaint,
but one that is both preventable and redeemable.
